Not really a test but how long does it take for you to upload short vids to you tube??? It takes forever to uplaod a 30-40 sec vid for me... I am on dsl high speed so that shouldn't be the prob, its on a vista laptop 2 gig of ram and the file is AVI done on fire fox... dose the format make a differance to the time it takes?

ususally when i upload vids on youtube it takes between 2 to 6 minutes

How big is the video on your computer?

Also, most broadband is asymmetric - your upload speed is a fraction of the download, so it'll take longer than you expect.

It was taken with a digi 8 mega pix camera... file size is 274mb.. it took from the first post at 909 till 1145 to upload!!!

Just did a speed test at "speedtest.net" to a server in Brandon and got these results... downloads 4847kb/s and upload of just 354kb/s.... i'm no genius, but that is less then 10% of the down load speed.... any way to make it faster? or do I just have to live with it?

274MB would take a while, yeah.  See if you can get a utility to compress it a bit before uploading?

The upload seems a little slow, but I don't know - there's a wide variance in potential speeds, depending, especially in rural areas, where I think you are?

If you have torrents or anything else going, it'll also cut down the available speed.

Edit:  But nowhere near the download speed.  The up/down is typically a large ratio of one another, yes.

That is normal.  Most ISPs have upload speeds 10% of the download.
